National Lottery Awards Success Brings Loud Whoops in the Library

Loud In Libraries CIC, the humble little company that delivers the Get It Loud In Libraries programme across the North West of England, is delighted to report we have been shortlisted for the National Lottery Awards Finals 2015 in the Arts Category. The finals are due to be shown live on BBC TV on Sept 12th – wowzers.

We have actually known about this honour for a month or so now but have been sworn to silence – an irony given the project’s devoted mission to break down barriers and amplify libraries with the best new acts and energy of young people learning new digital and sound production skills. But now voting is about to commence (June 24-July 28) and we have climbed to the roof of the library to holler. We also need your help…

If you have ever come down for one of our all ages shows (previous acts to play include Alt-J, The Vaccines, Jessie J, CSS, Florence +The Machine, Adele, Clean Bandit, Plan B, Professor Green, Young Fathers and Ezra Furman – plus 100s more) and have learnt new skills, built your CV, found work experience, felt a smidge happier, met knew friends, discovered favourite new bands, fallen in love or just simply liked the vibe and ‘the cut of our jib’, please do vote for us.

We love what we do. We love your library and want it to be the most thrilling it can be. We want your library on the cultural map. If we have made even the smallest difference to your life, please vote for us.

And just to give you a little flavour about what Loud In Libraries CIC is all about, here's a video that the young digital producers created ahead of Thumpers' gig with St. Helens Central Library about why gigs in libraries are important and what audiences get out of them...
