London based band Wolf Alice have just released their debut EP Blush. Yes, there’s nudity on the cover, but beyond that are four breathtaking, guitar driven, lovelorn tracks. The title track Blush with it's delicate and wandering guitar chords initially sounds like an XX song but as soon as Ellie Rowsell’s sugary and heartfelt vocals start it takes on a life of it's own; the track gently builds and warms to a crescendo, creating a whirling wall of sound. Wolf Alice’s sound is shoe gaze fuzz meets twitchy guitars and I like it.
We’ve booked them for two shows this December – you can check them out at Lancaster Library on Friday 6 December and Liverpool Library on Saturday 7 December.
